We recently visited our friends at Calabogie Peaks Resort in Calabogie Ontario, Canada. Which is located about an hour outside of the capital, Ottawa. Calabogie is a super fun hill to shred. Lots of natural rollers and side hits and NO lift lines. The snowboard park wasn’t fully developed yet but they did have a fun boardercross course to whip down that was open. We spent a few days riding, hot tubbing and learning to skate again on their outdoor skating rink and ended up snapping a few shots (below) that we were happy with.
Calabogie is worth the extra drive time from Ottawa, unless you feel like battling the crowds at the other local hills surrounding Ottawa. We had a blast, good beer and friendly lifties and good snow. Check them out www.calabogie.com .

Towards the end of March we heard it was dumping in the interior BC, so we quickly packed up and headed out to Red Mountain Resort in Rossland BC to hopefully get some pow turns in. And as you can see by some of our photos below we weren’t disappointed. Red seems to always come through with snow for us. it is a bit of a trek to get there, 8 hr drive from Vancouver or about 7.5 from Calgary. It’s basically in the middle of BC down by the border. When it’s snowing though, it’s definitely worth the extra few hrs of drive time. You can check them out at www.redresort.com .
Last week a few team guys and I headed out to Big White Resort to find and shred some powder we’ve been craving the last few weeks. And Big White never seems to disappoint us. We truly love this mountain. Such amazing natural terrain with tree jibs and drops everywhere. Big White is HUGE. 15 lifts and 7355 acres with an average snowfall of 24.5 ft and some of the friendliness lifties and staff we’ve met. It’s located just under an hours drive from Kelowna BC Canada.
Some of our favourite runs were on Gem Lake and on the Powder Chair, where we rode some wicked glades with some sweet cliffs lines. Anywhere from small to huge drops, you pick. The groomers are sick as well. Lots of side hits and rollers to keep you busy till the bottom. They also have a wicked snowboard park and fun as hell boarder cross course to rip though.
After riding, Big Whites village is a pretty rad place to hang out and grab a beer. Lots of choices for pubs and restaurants. We loved ‘The Woods’ and the patio at ‘Sessions’. There always seems to be lots going on. Anything from skating on their huge outdoor rink, tubing or even night riding which they boast as western Canadas largest resort night skiing area @ 38 acres.
Do yourself a favour, avoid standing in lift lines and dealing with tourist filled groomers all day and go check out Big White Resort.
